'The Outlaw' Sporran
The Outlaw- Jacobite Style Sporran
Inspired by History, Built for the Modern Day
This sporran is a faithful tribute to 18th century Highland dress, made from hand aged, bark tanned deerskin. The same kind of leather used over 280 years ago. It’s strong, water resistant, and made to last a lifetime.
Made for Wearing
Tough enough for daily wear or a hike through the mountains, this sporran is built to handle the elements. The leather ages beautifully and looks even better with use. Every stitch is done by hand using waxed linen thread. The edge is finished with a traditional whipstitch, just like in original Jacobite era examples.
Authentic Details
Rolled edges on the flap and belt loop for strength
Diced basket weave pattern woven into the flap
Hand tied knots on tassels and buttons
Historical reference
The shape of this sporran draws inspiration from a wood carving made in the 18th century, found on a Northern island in Scotland. I’ve added a basket weave pattern along the edge on the sporran as seen in other sporran designs from this period.
